Scalable fluid-spinning nanowire-based inorganic semiconductor yarns for electrochromic actuators

Linpeng Li et al.

Summary: In this study, scalable inorganic semiconductor yarns with excellent mechanical and electrical properties were obtained using a unique fluid-spinning strategy. The semiconductor yarns showed highly oriented hierarchical nanostructures, resulting in excellent flexibility and mechanical strength. Additionally, coiled yarns flexible in deep cryogenic temperature were obtained by combining host core material and functional guest sheath in a fluid-spinning process.
