Extremal black holes that are not extremal: maximal warm holes

Oscar J. C. Dias et al.

Summary: This study focuses on a family of charged black holes that develop scalar hair as their charge increases at fixed mass. Surprisingly, the maximum charge for a given mass corresponds to a nonsingular hairy black hole with nonzero Hawking temperature. The implications for Hawking evaporation are discussed.

Inside an asymptotically flat hairy black hole

Oscar J. C. Dias et al.

Summary: We studied the interior of a family of asymptotically flat, charged black holes that develop scalar hair as charge increases. These black holes resemble the interior of a holographic superconductor and exhibit analogs of Josephson oscillations of the scalar field. The presence of Cauchy horizons in a large class of stationary black holes with scalar hair was argued against in an appendix.

What's inside a hairy black hole in massive gravity?

Seyed Ali Hosseini Mansoori et al.

Summary: This study investigates holographic flows in the context of massive gravity theories driven by a relevant scalar operator, revealing the mechanisms and singular behaviors of these flows. It is found that the instability triggered by the scalar field leads to a rapid collapse of the Einstein-Rosen bridge, ultimately evolving into a spacetime singularity.

No inner-horizon theorem for black holes with charged scalar hairs

Rong-Gen Cai et al.

Summary: This study establishes a no inner-horizon theorem for black holes with charged scalar hairs, showing that they do not have an inner Cauchy horizon. The geometry near the singularity takes a universal Kasner form when the kinetic term of the scalar hair dominates, and novel behaviors are uncovered when the scalar potential becomes important. For hyperbolic horizon cases, hairy black holes can only have at most one inner horizon. These features also apply to Einstein gravity coupled with neutral scalars.

Diving inside a hairy black hole

Nicolas Grandi et al.

Summary: The research explores the interior of the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet charged black-hole with scalar hair and identifies various dynamic epochs, notably the absence of a Cauchy horizon. This discovery suggests that violating the no-hair theorem could provide insights into the functioning of the strong cosmic censorship conjecture.

Holographic axion model: A simple gravitational tool for quantum matter

Matteo Baggioli et al.

Summary: The holographic axion model is a complete and exhaustive review on a bottom-up holographic system characterized by shift symmetric scalar bulk fields. It allows for fast computations by implementing the breaking of translational invariance of the dual field theory while retaining the homogeneity of the background geometry. The model's versatility is proven by its wide range of uses and it is a must-read for researchers in the field of Applied Holography.
