Horizon acoustics of the GHS black hole and the spectrum of AdS2

Achilleas P. Porfyriadis et al.

Summary: A novel structure in Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton gravity is uncovered, featuring an AdS(2) x S-2 solution with independent length scales controlled by dilaton coupling lambda. The perturbation problem for this solution is solved, revealing independently propagating towers of states composed of gravitons, photons, and dilatons, with associated effective potentials. The effective potentials describe modes obeying conformal quantum mechanics and provide crucial data for any future construction of a holographic dual to these AdS(2) x S-2 configurations.

Rotating 5D black holes: Interactions and deformations near extremality

Alejandra Castro et al.

Summary: This study focuses on a two-dimensional theory of gravity coupled to matter to describe the holographic properties of five-dimensional black holes with two equal angular momenta. By computing corrections to correlation functions due to cubic interactions, it is found that the corrections do not have a definite sign and depend on the mass of the extremal solution for AdS5 black holes. Possible interpretations of these corrections from a gravitational and holographic perspective are discussed, along with quantifying the impact of the JT sector on the UV region of the black hole.

Extreme black hole anabasis

Shahar Hadar et al.

Summary: We identified an invariant mu characterizing a backreaction in the study of spherically symmetric perturbations of the Bertotti-Robinson universe. The only allowed backreaction destroys the AdS(2)xS-2 boundary and builds the exterior of an asymptotically flat Reissner-Nordstrom black hole. Addition of linear anabasis perturbations to Bertotti-Robinson defines a connected AdS(2)xS(2) which accurately captures the dynamics of the asymptotically flat black hole.

Gravitational perturbations from NHEK to Kerr

Alejandra Castro et al.

Summary: We revisit the spectrum of linear axisymmetric gravitational perturbations of the (near-)extreme Kerr black hole, focusing on perturbations responsible for deviations from extremality and characterizing these against linearized perturbations treated in the Newman-Penrose formalism. Our analysis includes effects on the line element, contributions to Iyer-Wald charges around the NHEK geometry, and reconstituting them as gravitational perturbations on Kerr, with particular attention to regularity conditions affecting the dynamical properties of the low-lying sector and new developments in nearly-AdS(2) holography.
