Heterogeneous photo-Fenton degradation toward sulfonamide matrix over magnetic Fe3S4 derived from MIL-100(Fe)

Summary: The study demonstrates the facile synthesis of magnetic Fe3S4 from MIL-100(Fe) and thioacetamide under hydrothermal conditions, which exhibits excellent oxidative degradation performance towards sulfamethoxazole (SMX) in the photo-Fenton process under both UV and visible light. Fe3S4 also shows high potential for total organic carbon (TOC) removal efficiency and recyclability in water treatment applications.

A metal-free photocatalyst for highly efficient hydrogen peroxide photoproduction in real seawater

Preferential Growth of the Cobalt (200) Facet in Co@N-C for Enhanced Performance in a Fenton-like Reaction

Summary: In this study, a series of Co@N-C materials were synthesized using nitrates as templates to control the preferential growth of the cobalt (200) facet, exhibiting excellent activity for Fenton-like degradation of bisphenol A. The Co(200) facet was found to be the most active for PMS activation, with nitrates promoting its preferential growth. These materials showed higher stability and faster transformation rates, while singlet oxygen was found to play a dominant role in the degradation process. Density functional theory confirmed that Co nanoparticles coated with graphitic nitrogen-doped carbon had the best activity for PMS activation.
