Lack of Racial, Ethnic, and Sex Disparities in Ischemic Stroke Care Metrics within a Tele-Stroke Network

Sujan Reddy et al.

Summary: A retrospective review of acute ischemic stroke patients in a telestroke network in Texas showed no racial, ethnic, or sex disparities in ischemic stroke care metrics. Collaboration among networks is needed to establish a multicenter telestroke database for a comprehensive understanding of telestroke's impact on alleviating disparities in stroke care.

National surveillance of stroke quality of care and outcomes by applying post-stratification survey weights on the Get With The Guidelines-Stroke patient registry

Boback Ziaeian et al.

Summary: This study developed a method to transform an existing registry into a representative database to evaluate acute ischemic stroke care quality using statistical approaches. The results indicated that leveraging existing databases with patient registries to develop post-stratification weights is a reliable approach for monitoring stroke quality of care nationally.
