Spatial mapping of groundwater springs potentiality using grid search-based and genetic algorithm-based support vector regression

A'kif Al-Fugara et al.

Summary: This study used support vector regression (SVR) and genetic algorithm (GA), combined with multiple conditioning factors, to produce groundwater springs potentiality maps for the Jerash and Ajloun region. By optimizing model parameters and selecting the most relevant features, the study achieved a high level of precision in the models.

Estimation of daily maize transpiration using support vector machines, extreme gradient boosting, artificial and deep neural networks models

Junliang Fan et al.

Summary: Accurate estimation of plant transpiration (T) is crucial for agricultural production, and this study investigated the use of machine learning models to estimate daily T of summer maize. Incorporating soil water content and leaf area index variables improved model performance, with the deep neural network (DNN) model slightly outperforming others.

Application of neural network and time series modeling to study the suitability of drain water quality for irrigation: a case study from Egypt

Mohamed K. Abdel-Fattah et al.

Summary: Limited water resources are a major challenge in Egypt, and reusing agricultural drainage water for irrigation is crucial. This study assessed the quality of water from Bahr El-Baqr drainage for irrigation purposes, using chemical composition and models like ANN and ARIMA. Results showed good water quality with a high prediction accuracy using ANN, while ARIMA models were used to forecast IWQI. These findings will assist water resource managers in future irrigation planning.
