Coordination of escape and spatial navigation circuits orchestrates versatile flight from threats

Summary: This study demonstrates that cholecystokinin-expressing cells in the hypothalamic dorsal premammillary nucleus play a crucial role in controlling context-specific escape behaviors in mice, unlike other nuclei implicated in flight. The dorsal premammillary nucleus is able to influence spatial navigation and escape circuits, leading to versatile flight behaviors.
