Integrated synthesis and ripening of AgInS2 QDs in droplet microreactors: An update fluorescence regulating via suitable temperature combination

Ji Wang et al.

Summary: Aqueous phase synthesized ternary I-III-VI2 Quantum dots (QDs) have gained increasing attention in biology research due to their good biocompatibility and easily adjustable fluorescence properties. However, the low quantum yield (QY) of these QDs synthesized in aqueous phase hinders their further applications. In this study, an integrated droplet microfluidic chip was proposed for the automated and successive synthesis and ripening of AgInS2 QDs, achieving high-performance QDs with independently controlled and precise temperatures. The study also explored the reason for the decrease in QY of AgInS2 QDs at higher ripening temperature.

Ligand Adsorption Energy and the Postpurification Surface Chemistry of Colloidal Metal Chalcogenide Nanocrystals

Summary: The study investigates the binding of a single ligand to CdSe and CdS nanocrystals, revealing that CdS nanocrystals bind more cadmium oleate and are more resistant to displacement by butylamine compared to CdSe. Density functional theory simulations predict a higher cadmium oleate displacement energy for CdS, which influences the displacement equilibrium constant for both types of nanocrystals after purification.

Summary: Ag2Te quantum dots emitting from 950 to 2100 nm have been synthesized via trialkylphosphine-controlled growth, achieving precise size control. By controlling dissolution effect, the monomer supply kinetics can be regulated, leading to precise size control of Ag2Te QDs with emission tunability, providing new possibilities for multicolor and deep-tissue in vivo fluorescence imaging.
