Boosting the water gas shift reaction on Pt/CeO2-based nanocatalysts by compositional modification: Support doping versus bimetallic alloying

Controlling phase transfer of molybdenum carbides by various metals for highly efficient hydrogen production

Summary: Recently, α-phase Mo carbide has attracted attention for its high activity in the water gas shift reaction. By impregnating metals (Au, Pt, Rh, Cu) on MoO3 made by flame spray pyrolysis, Mo carbides were successfully produced in one-step carbonization process. The addition of trace Rh led to direct transformation of MoO3 to α-MoC1-x and exhibited high stability in the WGS reaction even at high temperatures.

High-purity hydrogen production via a water-gas-shift reaction in a palladium-copper catalytic membrane reactor integrated with pressure swing adsorption

Summary: The Pd-Cu catalytic membrane reactor (CMR) combined with a four-bed PSA system was developed to efficiently produce fuel cell grade hydrogen, enhancing CO conversion and H2 recovery. By using sweep gas, pure H2 could be directly obtained from the permeate side, resulting in H2 purity of over 99.9991% and CO concentration as low as 8.67 ppm.

Summary: Ni-MgO and Ni-MgO-CeO2 catalysts prepared by co-precipitation at different titration rates were applied to carbon dioxide reforming of methane. The titration rate affected the physical properties of NM catalysts and also the chemical properties of NMC catalysts. The NMC catalyst prepared at a fast titration rate exhibited the highest catalytic performance in CDR.

Effects of niobium addition on active metal and support in Co-CeO2 catalyst for the high temperature water gas shift reaction

Summary: In this study, Nb promoter was introduced in the Co-CeO2 catalyst to enhance its catalytic performance in the high temperature water gas shift reaction. The effect of Nb loading amount on catalyst performance was further investigated, with 1.5NbCo catalyst showing the highest catalytic performance. The high catalytic performance of this catalyst was attributed to its high OSC and Co dispersion.
