Interfacial Engineering of PTAA/Perovskites for Improved Crystallinity and Hole Extraction in Inverted Perovskite Solar Cells

Yang Li et al.

Summary: Inverted perovskite solar cells have gained increasing research interest, but the hydrophobic property of the commonly used hole-transporting layer material PTAA hinders the growth of high-quality perovskite films. This study employs a donor-acceptor-donor type organic molecule M2 to modify the surface of PTAA, improving its hydrophobic property and enhancing hole mobility and conductivity. With the modified PTAA/M2 as the hole transport layer, the efficiency and stability of inverted PSCs are improved.

Low-Bandgap Organic Bulk-Heterojunction Enabled Efficient and Flexible Perovskite Solar Cells

Shengfan Wu et al.

Summary: Lead halide perovskite and organic solar cells are seen as promising candidates for clean energy applications, but improvements are needed in the near-infrared photon loss and photovoltage deficit. By integrating low-bandgap organic bulk-heterojunction layers into inverted PSCs, high-performance hybrid solar cells can be constructed. These hybrid solar cells demonstrate excellent power conversion efficiency, extended photoresponse, and superior long-term stability compared to single-component PSCs and OSCs. With the highest efficiency reported for flexible solar cells to date, flexible HSCs can be integrated as a power source for wearable sensors, demonstrating real-time temperature monitoring capabilities.

In Situ erovskitoid Engineering at SnO2 Interface toward Highly Efficient and Stable Formamidinium Lead Triiodide Perovskite Solar Cells

Yuquan Ai et al.

Summary: By introducing a layer of tetrabutylammonium fluoride (TBAF) on SnO2, an in situ layer of TBAPbI(3) perovskitoid is formed, which could improve the conductivity of SnO2, passivate defects in perovskite, improve the phase stability of alpha-FAPbI(3), and retard nonradiative recombination in the device. This strategy leads to a champion device with a power conversion efficiency of 23.1% under AM 1.5 G illumination of 100 mW/cm(2), with excellent stability under illumination, thermal stress, and humidity conditions for unencapsulated devices.

Perovskite solar cells with atomically coherent interlayers on SnO2 electrodes

Hanul Min et al.

Summary: By introducing an interlayer between the electron-transporting and perovskite layers in perovskite solar cells, researchers have successfully enhanced charge extraction and transport from the perovskite, leading to higher power conversion efficiency and fewer interfacial defects. The coherent interlayer allowed the fabrication of devices with a certified efficiency of 25.5%, which maintained about 90% of its initial efficiency even after continuous light exposure for 500 hours. The findings provide guidelines for designing defect-minimizing interfaces in metal halide perovskites and electron-transporting layers.
