Bead-free and tough electrospun PCL/gelatin/PGS ternary nanofibrous scaffolds for tissue engineering application

Ebrahim Behtouei et al.

Summary: The ternary blend nanofibers of PCL/gelatin/PGS show enhanced hydrophilicity and improved mechanical properties, with potential applications in nerve tissue engineering. By optimizing the polymer concentration, voltage, and electrospinning parameters, bead-free nanofibers can be obtained. The inclusion of gelatin in the ternary blend enhances biocompatibility and controlled degradation, showing promising results in in vitro studies on glioma cells.

Characterization of Polycaprolactone Nanohydroxyapatite Composites with Tunable Degradability Suitable for Indirect Printing

Stephanie E. Doyle et al.

Summary: This study successfully created degradable and homogenously distributed PCL-nHA scaffolds through regulation of PCL molecular weight and nHA concentration. The addition of nHA was found to increase the degradation rate of the PCL-nHA composites. The 45 and 80 kDa PCL-nHA groups showed good cytocompatibility, demonstrating their potential as tissue engineered implant materials.

Nanostructure of bioactive glass affects bone cell attachment via protein restructuring upon adsorption

Ukrit Thamma et al.

Summary: The nanostructure of engineered bioscaffolds plays a significant role in cell response, with findings showing that cell response is related to the secondary conformation of absorbed proteins rather than nanopore size or HA/CHA layer micro/nano morphology. This research provides new insight into the interaction between cells and the scaffolds' interfacial layer, crucial for further development of tissue engineering scaffolds.

Failure Analysis of TEVG's I: Overcoming the Initial Stages of Blood Material Interaction and Stabilization of the Immune Response

Maria A. Rodriguez-Soto et al.

Summary: Vascular grafts are medical devices designed to replace diseased vessels, but current materials struggle to maintain patency. Even with advances in tissue engineering, the cellular response is not yet mimicking native vessels, and further research on bio-molecular interactions is needed. Understanding these interactions is crucial for successful vascular graft stabilization before wall regeneration.
