Machine learning approaches for prediction of properties of natural fiber composites : Apriori algorithm

R. Balasundaram et al.

Summary: The field of material selection for desired properties is rapidly developing, with no fixed rules for choosing suitable materials. The complex interrelation among the properties of composites makes it more difficult for material scientists to suggest suitable materials. The use of machine learning methods can help predict the relationship between material properties and accelerate the discovery of new materials.

Natural Fillers as Potential Modifying Agents for Epoxy Composition: A Review

Natalia Sienkiewicz et al.

Summary: Epoxy resins are important organic matrices with unique properties, making them widely used in composite industries. Recent studies have focused on using green fillers, such as post-agricultural waste powder and natural fibers, as reinforcement for epoxy resins instead of non-biodegradable fillers. The advantages of natural fillers include sustainability, low cost, wide availability, and biodegradability, which align with the current environmental concerns. The development and progress of green products based on epoxy resin and natural fillers have been increasing due to their desirable properties.

Comparative Analysis of Erosive Wear Behaviour of Epoxy, Polyester and Vinyl Esters Based Thermosetting Polymer Composites for Human Prosthetic Applications Using Taguchi Design

Jeetendra Mohan Khare et al.

Summary: This study investigated the erosive wear of natural and synthetic fiber-based polymer composites, revealing that polyester-based composites exhibited the highest erosive wear while epoxy-based composites showed the lowest. SEM analysis showed brittle fractures in certain regions at the highest fiber loading, indicating a marginal amount of impact forces on the fabricated samples. The developed fiber-reinforced polymer sandwich composite materials possess excellent biocompatibility and promising properties for various medical applications.
