Properties investigation of 3D printed continuous pineapple leaf fiber-reinforced PLA composite

Jaya Suteja et al.

Summary: This study investigates the mechanical properties of 3D printed parts using continuous pineapple leaf fiber as the reinforcement. The experiment shows that the use of continuous pineapple leaf fiber increases the tensile strength of the composite without increasing dimensional error or print time, but decreases the elongation.

Rheological and Morphological Properties of Oil Palm Fiber-Reinforced Thermoplastic Composites for Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM)

Mohd Nazri Ahmad et al.

Summary: The research analyzed the rheological behavior of oil palm fiber-reinforced ABS composites in FDM and determined the best processing conditions. It was found that good fiber/matrix adhesion was achieved with a 3 wt% fiber loading, while some pores and fiber pullouts were observed with 5 and 7 wt% fiber loading. The study also revealed that increasing fiber content increased viscosity, showing potential for extrusion process in FDM.

Fused deposition modelling process parameters influence on the mechanical properties of ABS: A review

Imtiyaz Khan et al.

Summary: The main goal of Fusion Deposit Modeling (FDM) is to produce functional components for production units, considering how unique boundaries affect the mechanical transport of items. Obtaining data for this task is challenging, thus it is essential to review ongoing research to understand the relevance of results. The study discusses the significant process parameters affecting the strain and flexibility of FDM models and highlights the importance of understanding the mechanical properties of the material and the final FDM part.
