Mutual dispersion of graphite-silica binary fillers and its effects on curing, mechanical, and aging properties of natural rubber composites

Summary: This study investigated the dispersion and reinforcement performance of binary fillers in natural rubber, showing that the mutual dispersion of silica and graphite fillers offers better mechanical properties. Better filler dispersion in natural rubber improved mechanical and aging resistance properties.

Summary: New technology is necessary for updating new generation flexible devices such as stretchable sensors, flexible electronics, and actuators. In this study, a stretchable strain sensor and actuator were developed based on RTV silicone rubber reinforced with carbon nanotubes (CNTs), nanographite (GR), and CNT-GR hybrids, showing improved mechanical properties for real-life applications.
