Liquid metal polymer composites: from printed stretchable circuits to soft actuators

These composites can be engineered to display mechanical and electrical self-healing properties, high fracture toughness, and resistance to tearing. This short review discusses the different classes of EGaIn-polymers composites, materials synthesis, and patterning approaches, and compares their properties to other material systems. It also reviews the applications of these materials in wearable bioelectronics, soft robotics, shape programmable smart materials, as well as energy storage and harvesting devices.
