Evidence of exposure to C. burnetii among slaughterhouse workers in western Kenya

Male workers, those slaughtering cattle and small ruminants, and specific roles in the slaughterhouse such as cleaning and flaying were associated with higher odds of being seropositive. Slaughterhouse workers in this setting have a higher seroprevalence compared to the general population, indicating occupational risk and the need for targeted interventions.
