Leveraging self-determination theory to understand which preschool teachers benefit most from a professional development intervention

Benjamin L. Bayly et al.

Summary: This study used a self-determination theoretical framework to identify subgroups of teachers and found three latent classes of teachers. The results suggested that while the MyTeachingPartner intervention had similar effects on emotional support for all classes of teachers, it was most effective for instructional support for teachers from the Confident and Supported class. This highlights the importance of teacher and contextual factors in optimizing the effectiveness of professional development.

A Complementary Intervention to Promote Wellbeing and Stress Management for Early Career Teachers

Stevie-Jae Hepburn et al.

Summary: The educational climate and culture in schools play a significant role in influencing teacher wellbeing, job satisfaction, and work-related stress. Interventions at both organizational and individual levels are necessary to provide teachers with stress management strategies for promoting their wellbeing. This study focused on stress management techniques for early career teachers and found a decrease in perceived stress and an increase in attention awareness and subjective wellbeing after implementing the intervention.

Measuring the Impacts of Virtual Reality Games on Cognitive Ability Using EEG Signals and Game Performance Data

Bo Wan et al.

Summary: Virtual reality games have greater potential in enhancing cognitive abilities compared to 3D games, helping participants achieve better game scores and higher cognitive levels in a shorter period of time. Gender has no significant impact on working memory but does affect attention differently in virtual reality game mode.
