The effects of social isolation on well-being and life satisfaction during pandemic

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic led to significant social isolation and mental health issues, with perceived social isolation affecting adults across all age groups. Young adults reported the highest levels of perceived social isolation. Perceived social isolation was associated with lower life satisfaction, increased work-related stress, reduced trust in institutions, and higher substance use as a coping strategy.
