Multifactorial causal beliefs and colorectal cancer screening: A structural equation modeling investigation

Caitlin Allen et al.

Summary: This study tested a conceptual model on the relationship between individuals' understanding of multifactorial nature of cancer and colorectal cancer screening, finding that multifactorial causal beliefs were associated with cancer risk perceptions and cancer cognitions, but not with colorectal cancer screening behavior. Further research is needed to determine if the model can be applied to other cancer-related health behaviors.

Alireza Ansari-Moghaddam et al.

Summary: This study examined determinants of COVID-19 vaccination intention based on the protection motivation theory. Findings showed that perceived severity, perceived self-efficacy, and perceived response efficacy were significant predictors, with perceived response efficacy being the strongest predictor. Programs to increase vaccination rates can focus on interventions related to severity of COVID-19, individual self-efficacy in receiving the vaccine, and the vaccine's effectiveness in preventing infection.
