Emission reduction of condensable particulate matter in ammonia-based desulfurized flue gas by heterogeneous vapor condensation

Leilei Wang et al.

Summary: The study proposed a novel method based on heterogeneous vapor condensation to reduce condensable particulate matter (CPM) emissions, which demonstrated a reduction rate of 26.67% for filterable particulate matter (FPM) and 30.84% for CPM under typical conditions. The main water-soluble ions in FPM/CPM were identified as SO42- and NH4+, and the optimal temperature drop for desulfurized flue gas was found to be 4-6 degrees Celsius.

Characteristics of water-soluble ions in condensable particulate matter emitted from stationary sources in Wuhan

Chang Yuan et al.

Summary: This study investigated the concentration and characterization of condensable particulate matter (CPM) and filterable particulate matter (FPM) emitted from different stationary sources in Wuhan. The results showed that these stationary sources do emit some CPMs, with coal-fired plants having higher CPM concentrations.

Migration and emission characteristics of N-alkanes and phthalates in condensable particulate matter from coal-fired sources

Yujia Wu et al.

Summary: CPM, containing harmful organic pollutants, is the dominant component of total particulate matter emitted from coal combustion. The concentrations of n-alkanes and phthalates in CPM were significantly lower in coal-fired power units compared to coal-fired industrial units. Dry-type precipitators showed effective control of C-N and C-P emissions, with varying effects observed with desulfurization systems and wet-type precipitators.

Emission characteristics of condensable particulate matter and sulfur trioxide from coal-fired power plants

Fuxin Yang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the migration and emission characteristics of non-criteria air pollutants SO3 and CPM in two typical coal-fired power plants, revealing notable CPM emissions that should not be ignored. The results showed that wet flue gas desulfurization and wet electrostatic precipitator can reduce the emission of organic fraction in CPM, while one-stage wet flue gas desulfurization has a negative effect on the mitigation of inorganic fraction in CPM.
