Application of the statistical analysis methodology for photodegradation of methyl orange using a new nanocomposite containing modified TiO2 semiconductor with SnO2

Sedigheh Abbasi et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the synthesis and characterization of TiO2 nanoparticles and TiO2-SnO2 nanocomposites with different amounts of SnO2 nanoparticles. The removal efficiency of methyl orange as an organic pollutant is investigated under various conditions, including UV irradiation time, weight fraction of photocatalysts, and pH levels. Results show that the presence of SnO2 nanoparticles enhances the removal efficiency, while factors such as UV irradiation time, weight fraction, and pH levels also have significant effects on the removal efficiency.

Reshaping the Cathodic Catalyst Layer for Anion Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells: From Heterogeneous Catalysis to Homogeneous Catalysis

Rong Ren et al.

Summary: Researchers developed a structural engineering strategy to immobilize a molecular catalyst onto an ionomer, creating a composite material with a homogeneous catalysis environment inside ion-flow channels. This led to significantly improved mass transfer and turnover frequency due to 100% utilization of catalyst molecules, resulting in advantages of low overpotential and high fuel-cell power density in the homogeneous catalysis system.

Solvent free synthesis of chalcones over graphene oxide-supported MnO2 catalysts synthesized via combustion route

Aniket Kumar et al.

Summary: Graphene oxide was employed as a suitable support material for the synthesis of GO-MnO2 nanocatalyst via a greener solution combustion route. The nanocatalyst showed superior catalytic activity in Claisen-Schmidt condensation reactions, and was easy to separate and reuse multiple times, providing high product yield in a short period of time. Comparisons with other reported catalysts showed significantly higher activity of GO-MnO2 nanocatalyst in a shorter time frame.

Graphene oxide-supported cobalt tungstate as catalyst precursor for selective growth of single-walled carbon nanotubes

Xue Zhao et al.

Summary: By using graphene oxide as a support, well-dispersed CoWO4 nanoparticles were prepared to facilitate the controlled growth of single-walled carbon nanotubes. CoWO4 proved to be a superior catalyst precursor for obtaining nanoparticles with a well-controlled size, while graphene oxide acted as a feasible substrate to ensure the uniform formation and dispersibility of nanoparticles in aqueous solution. This strategy may have broad applications in the preparation of various functional nanomaterials.
