Heterometallic Benzenehexathiolato Coordination Nanosheets: Periodic Structure Improves Crystallinity and Electrical Conductivity

Ryojun Toyoda et al.

Summary: This study investigates the use of mixed nickel and copper ions to fabricate coordination nanosheet films based on benzenehexathiolato (BHT). It is found that this heterometallicity results in improved crystallinity and electrical conductivities in the films. Spectroscopic and scattering measurements confirm the formation of a bilayer structure with larger and more oriented grains. These findings open new opportunities for improving the functional properties of 2D coordination nanosheets.

Ni single atoms anchored on nitrogen-doped graphene as H2-Evolution cocatalyst of SrTiO3(Al)/CoOx for photocatalytic overall water splitting

Yuxiang Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, Ni single atoms anchored on nitrogen-doped graphene were used as hydrogen evolution cocatalysts for SrTiO3(Al)/CoOx photocatalyst, replacing noble metals. The Ti-O-C bonds improved the efficiency of photogenerated charge transfer and accelerated the surface hydrogen evolution rate, leading to remarkable enhancement in overall water splitting activity.

Rational Design of Electrocatalysts Comprising Single-Atom-Modified Covalent Organic Frameworks for the N2 Reduction Reaction: A First-Principles Study

Keitaro Ohashi et al.

Summary: The study systematically investigated the theoretical NRR activity of various single-3d-metal atoms doped into COFs with different coordination numbers. It was found that as the coordination number or the number of d-electrons of the metal centers increased, the adsorption strength of NRR intermediates decreased. An optimal NRR catalyst exhibits a moderate binding strength with intermediates.

Two-dimensional conjugated metal-organic frameworks (2D c-MOFs): chemistry and function for MOFtronics

Mingchao Wang et al.

Summary: In the 21st century, silicon-electronics and organic electronics have become central to modern electronics, while conductive metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as a unique class of electronic materials with the potential to enhance multifunctional electronic devices under the concept of MOFtronics. Two-dimensional conjugated MOFs (2D c-MOFs) show promise in high-performance (opto)electronics, magnetic applications, and energy devices due to their unique properties and high electrical conductivity.
