In this study, the role of in-plane charge transport in layered polymeric carbon nitride (CN) is demonstrated both theoretically and experimentally. The effects of three alkaline potassium salts on in-plane sewing and interlayer cutting of CN polymerization process are enhanced with the increase of alkalinity. The influence of in-plane crystallinity on charge transfer, separation, and photocatalytic activity is elucidated through the samples of three alkaline potassium salt series. These findings provide guidance for improving photoelectric conversion efficiency by optimizing in-plane charge transfer in layered photoelectric conversion materials.
Here, taking layered polymeric carbon nitride (CN)as an example, the dominant role of in-plane charge transport isdemonstrated both theoretically and experimentally. The in-planesewingand interlayercuttingeffects of three alkaline potassiumsalts on the CN polymerization process are enhanced with theincrease of alkalinity. The in-plane crystallinity-dependent chargetransfer and separation and photocatalytic activity are elucidatedthrough the samples of three alkaline potassium salt series. Ourfindings provide guidance for improving the photoelectricconversion efficiency by optimizing in-plane charge transfer ratherthan interlayer charge transfer, targeting layered photoelectricconversion materials.
