Equations for estimating the oxygen cost of walking in stroke patients: Systematic review

M. Compagnat et al.

Summary: This article aims to report all equations that can be used to estimate the oxygen cost of walking without using a respiratory gas exchange analyzer and to provide the reliability level of each equation. Through a systematic review, four equations estimating the oxygen cost of walking were identified, which were developed from logistic regression equations between walking speed and self-selected walking speed. The study by Compagnat et al. had the highest quality.
