Furin-Mediated Self-Assembly of Olsalazine Nanoparticles for Targeted Raman Imaging of Tumors

Yue Yuan et al.

Summary: Olsalazine acts as a broad-spectrum anti-cancer agent by inhibiting DNA methylation, and when conjugated with the tumor enzyme furin, it can self-assemble into nanoparticles that can be detected with high specificity using Raman spectroscopy. This sensing mechanism has potential applications in high-resolution image-guided surgery for precise delineation of tumor margins and determining microscopic tumor invasion and multifocal locoregional tumor spread.

Sandip Kumar Baidya et al.

Summary: Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) play roles in various pathological and physiological functions, with gelatinases as therapeutic targets against cancer. Although gelatinase inhibitors have shown effectiveness in several diseases, developing them as therapeutic agents is a challenging task. Various studies and patents have been ongoing to expand knowledge and develop better gelatinase inhibitors in recent years.

Enzyme-Mediated In Situ Self-Assembly Promotes In Vivo Bioorthogonal Reaction for Pretargeted Multimodality Imaging

Yuxuan Hu et al.

Summary: By combining enzyme-mediated fluorogenic reaction and in situ self-assembly with the inverse electron demand Diels-Alder (IEDDA) reaction, an activatable pretargeted strategy for multimodality imaging has been developed. This strategy allows for amplification of NIR FL and MRI signals, enrichment of TCOs, and simultaneous achievement of strong NIR FL, MRI, and PET signals for pretargeted multimodality imaging of ALP activity.
