Significance of Rosseland's Radiative Process on Reactive Maxwell Nanofluid Flows over an Isothermally Heated Stretching Sheet in the Presence of Darcy-Forchheimer and Lorentz Forces: Towards a New Perspective on Buongiorno's Model

Ghulam Rasool et al.

Summary: This study investigates the consequences of the Darcy-Forchheimer medium and thermal radiation in the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) Maxwell nanofluid flow. The inclusion of the Maxwell model provides more relaxation time to the momentum boundary layer formulation. Results show that thermal radiation increases the temperature profile, while chemical reaction reduces the concentration profile. Drag force (skin friction) exhibits sufficient enhancement for higher values of the porosity factor.

On Cattaneo-Christov heat flux in carbon-water nanofluid flow due to stretchable rotating disk through porous media

Uzma Sultana et al.

Summary: The mechanical characteristics of carbon nanotubes (CNT's) can only be revealed through advanced studies. Geometrically, carbon nanotubes exhibit diverse features in radial and axial directions. Due to their two-dimensional symmetrical behavior and cylindrical shape, they demonstrate strong electrical and thermal conductivity in the base fluid. This study analyzes and compares the behavior of single-wall and multi-wall carbon nanotubes in water as the base fluid, using the Catteneo-Christov heat flux model. Mathematical formulation and modeling utilize cylindrical coordinates to convert flow equations into partial differential equations. The shooting method and Keller box scheme are employed for the solution and study of fluid equations. The results show an increase in fluid temperature due to thermal relaxation time, while fluid temperature decreases with an increase in Prandtl number. Additionally, porosity influences fluid velocity as a decreasing function. The findings are presented through tables and graphs.

Significance of Lorentz forces on Jeffrey nanofluid flows over a convectively heated flat surface featured by multiple velocity slips and dual stretching constraint: a homotopy analysis approach

Abdullah Dawar et al.

Summary: Motivated by the temporal relaxation feature of the Jeffrey model and its practical uses in the Theological modeling of several vital liquids, this study presents a theoretical analysis of three-dimensional MHD Jeffrey nanofluid flows over a dual stretching surface with velocity slip conditions. The results show that the magnetic and viscoelastic parameters have a declining effect on the velocity distributions, while the Deborah number generally has an escalating influence. Additionally, the presence of slip effects leads to greater variations in the velocity profiles. Moreover, the velocity stretching factor has a dominant impact on the velocity distribution along the y-direction compared to the x-direction. Thermally, a higher Biot number increases the temperature distribution, while a higher Schmidt number reduces the concentration distribution.

Control of buoyant flow and heat dissipation in a porous annular chamber using a thin baffle

B. V. Pushpa et al.

Summary: This study used numerical simulations to investigate buoyant thermal transfer inside a finite porous cylindrical annular region with a thin circular baffle attached to the inner cylinder. It was found that the size and position of the baffle have a significant impact on flow and thermal transport characteristics, with the baffle near the upper boundary enhancing thermal dissipation rates while increasing baffle length reducing thermal transport. The study highlights the importance of baffle size and location in regulating global thermal transfer.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of the Cattaneo-Christov model and convective boundary on second-grade nanofluid flow, as well as the influence of Lorentz forces generated by a Riga pattern. The research finds variations in horizontal movement, thermal distribution, and concentration distribution of nanoparticles for different fluid parameters. The results are obtained using a spectral local linearization method and reveal enhancements in horizontal movement for elevated modified Hartman factor values, as well as reductions in thermal state and nanoparticle concentration for incremental relaxation time parameters.

Summary: This study numerically explores the flow of hydromagnetic alumina-water nanoliquid due to a rotating rigid disk, considering different nanoparticle shapes and slip constraints. The modified Buongiorno model is used to model the flow, and the impact of parameters on physical quantities and flow profiles is explained. It is observed that temperature of the nanoliquid increases with hydrodynamic slip parameter and decreases with thermal slip parameter, with platelet-shaped alumina nanoparticles exhibiting the highest drag.

Gear-generalized differential quadrature analysis of oscillatory convective Taylor-Couette flows of second-grade fluids subject to Lorentz and Darcy-Forchheimer quadratic drag forces

Wei-Feng Xia et al.

Summary: Neglect of further analysis of the Taylor-Couette flow problem is seen to be due to difficulties in research methodology for studying transport phenomena. The efficiency of the GearGeneralized Differential Quadrature Method (GGDQM) in analyzing the flow of second-grade fluid through a porous medium subject to Lorentz force was investigated. The study found that the elasticity of the fluid medium enhances the dynamical and thermal features, while the porosity characteristics and strength of the magnetic field exhibit a reverse trend in velocity and temperature distributions.
