Association of Medicaid Expansion With Cancer Stage and Disparities in Newly Diagnosed Young Adults

Xu Ji et al.

Summary: The study found that the Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act was associated with a decrease in uninsured young adults diagnosed with cancer, as well as an increase in early-stage cancer diagnoses. There were improvements seen particularly in rural areas and among non-Hispanic Black patients, indicating a narrowing of disparities in cancer care.
