Timetable coordination in a rail transit network with time-dependent passenger demand

Jiateng Yin et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the optimization of coordinated train timetables for urban rail networks, utilizing mixed-integer linear programming with passenger flow variables to minimize crowdedness at stations. Computational results demonstrate that the proposed approaches effectively reduce station overcrowding, with a decrease of around 8% in comparison to current timetables for the Beijing urban rail network.
