Recent progress on MXenes and MOFs hybrids: Structure, synthetic strategies and catalytic water splitting

Kusum Sharma et al.

Summary: The emerging class of 2D MXenes is suitable for water splitting as catalysts due to their tunable structures, large surface area, high electrical conductivity, rich surface chemistries, hydrophilicity, and large redox active sites. However, the agglomeration, reduced stability, and recyclability pose limitations. The coupling of MXenes with MOFs provides a preferential environment for hosting MXene to prevent agglomeration. This review showcases the synergistic effects of MXenes and MOFs hybrids and discusses their properties, synthetic strategies, and future challenges.

Recent development in catalyst and reactor design for CO2 reforming of alcohols to syngas: A review

Nornasuha Abdullah et al.

Summary: Global energy demand has a significant impact on GHGs emissions, and catalytic conversion of biomass-derived alcohols into syngas is a viable option for reducing GHGs. However, research in this field is limited, and the high reaction temperature poses a major challenge in the CO2 reforming process.

Indium sulfide-based photocatalysts for hydrogen production and water cleaning: a review

Vatika Soni et al.

Summary: Solar illumination is a promising energy source for reducing global warming and cleaning polluted water. Indium sulfide (In2S3) has suitable bandgap for visible light harnessing, but its large-scale application is limited. Improving the performance of In2S3 through synthesis, morphological manipulations, heterojunctions, and doping, can enhance pollutant removal and hydrogen production.

Optimal design of methane tri-reforming reactor to produce proper syngas for Fischer-Tropsch and methanol synthesis processes: A comparative analysis between different side-feeding strategies

Mohammad Hasan Khademi et al.

Summary: Recent research indicates that the side-feeding strategy in the methane tri-reforming reactor can be a beneficial method for producing syngas. Optimization of membrane tri-reforming reactors shows that the O-MTR offers the most advantages in terms of CH4 conversion, H2 yield, and catalyst lifetime.
