The PRIDE database resources in 2022: a hub for mass spectrometry-based proteomics evidences

Yasset Perez-Riverol et al.

Summary: PRIDE is the largest data repository of mass spectrometry-based proteomics data in the world, with around 500 datasets submitted per month. In addition to continuous improvements in data pipelines and infrastructure, PRIDE has developed the Spectra Archive and MAGE-TAB file format to enhance sample metadata annotation and access to mass spectra.

Low Intra-Individual Variation in Mean Platelet Volume Over Time in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Lina Wirestam et al.

Summary: Platelets play important roles in SLE as immune modulators, with smaller MPV values in SLE patients compared to controls. Individual MPV variation was low, and fluctuations in disease activity did not significantly impact MPV over time. Further studies are needed to evaluate MPV as a biomarker in SLE and to determine underlying mechanisms affecting platelet size.

Selectins impair regulatory T cell function and contribute to systemic lupus erythematosus pathogenesis

Marc Scherlinger et al.

Summary: This study identified a P-selectin-dependent pathway in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and validated it as a potential therapeutic avenue. Platelets from SLE patients interacted with Treg cells via the P-selectin/PSGL-1 axis, affecting Treg cell function and suppressing immune responses. Blocking P-selectin in a mouse model of SLE improved disease features, indicating its potential as a therapeutic target.
