Spectral properties of triphenyltin chloride toxin and its detectivity by SERS: Theory and experiment

Dmitrii Pankin et al.

Summary: The molecular structure of triphenyltin chloride (TPhTCl) was studied using Raman spectroscopy, SERS, and DFT modeling, revealing different conformers in gas phase and DMSO medium. Analysis of charge distribution and ESP maps confirmed weak hydrogen bond formation and rearrangement of benzene rings in complex formation. Interaction with metal clusters was shown to result in orientation ordering of benzene rings, confirmed by atomistic and electronic structure modeling.

Understanding the conformational, electronic and vibrational properties of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD). Pharmacophoric similarities and differences

Goran Baranovic

Summary: (-)-trans-Delta(9)-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and (-)-cannabidiol (CBD) are natural cannabinoids found in cannabis plant, interacting with cannabinoid receptors in the human body and exhibiting different physiological effects. The structural differences between THC and CBD, particularly the conformational flexibility of the alkyl side chain, contribute to variations in their receptor activity and behavior.

Molecular structure and quantum descriptors of cefradine by using vibrational spectroscopy (IR and Raman), NBO, AIM, chemical reactivity and molecular docking

Manoj Kumar Chaudhary et al.

Summary: This study investigates the structural and vibrational features of cefradine, a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, using spectroscopic experiments and theoretical quantum chemical methods. Various analyses were performed to examine the molecule's properties, including chemical reactivity, stability, and nucleophilic/electrophilic regions. The study revealed that N8 atom is the most prominent site for nucleophilic attack in cefradine.

Differentiated adsorption of thiobenzoic acid and thiobenzamide on silver nanoparticles determined by SERS spectroscopy

Maria Rosa Lopez-Ramirez et al.

Summary: The surface-enhanced Raman scattering of thiobenzoic acid and thiobenzamide on silver colloids showed unexpected shifts between Raman and SERS wavenumbers, indicating different adsorption mechanisms. Experimental and DFT calculations revealed that thiobenzoic acid binds to the metal as thiobenzoate via sulfur atom with unidentate coordination, while thiobenzamide adsorbs as azanion linking to the metal through sulfur and nitrogen atoms. The most enhanced band in SERS for both molecules is the 8a;ν(ring) mode implying a metal-to-molecule resonant charge transfer mechanism.

The characteristics of Raman spectroscopy of fenbendazole-gold nanoparticles based on the chemical adsorption effect

Shuai Lian et al.

Summary: This study investigated the chemical adsorption of fenbendazole and gold nanoparticles, explaining the differences between theoretical and experimental Raman spectra and identifying enhanced signals at specific frequencies. The experimental results suggest that fenbendazole is vertically adsorbed on the surface of gold nanoparticles through imidazole.
