This paper summarizes the related research of transport membrane condenser (TMC) in process design, performance evaluation, experiments, theoretical modeling, and industrial applications. It also constructs the basic structure of TMC research, laying the foundation for further optimizing its application performance in thermal power plants or broadening its application scenarios in other industrial fields.
Industrial flue gas contains a lot of moisture and waste heat, which is directly discharged into the environment, causing a lot of resource wastes. Transport membrane condenser (TMC) is a new type of equipment used to recover flue gas moisture and waste heat. At present, some demonstration engineering of TMC has been con-structed in the thermal power plants in the United States and China, and all of them show good recovery per-formance. However, transport membrane condenser is a new type of equipment, and the related research is very immature and lacks a systematic research framework. Based on this, this paper sorts out the related research of TMC (including existing research and future potential research) from process design, performance evaluation methods, experiments, theoretical modeling, and industrial applications. Furthermore, this paper constructs the basic structure of TMC research, and lays the foundation for further optimizing application performance of TMC in thermal power plants or broadening application scenarios of TMC in other industrial fields.
