A two-photon fluorescent probe for visualizing endoplasmic reticulum peroxynitrite in Parkinson's disease models

Ming Yan et al.

Summary: Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress is involved in diseases like Parkinson's disease, with peroxynitrite being a pivotal factor. A two-photon fluorescence probe, ER-PN, was designed and synthesized for visualizing ER peroxynitrite in PD models. The probe showed rapid and highly selective response to peroxynitrite in vitro, making it a promising tool for imaging peroxynitrite in ER stress-related diseases.

Rational Design of Near-Infrared Cyanine-Based Fluorescent Probes for Rapid In Vivo Sensing Cysteine

Hehe Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, cyanine-based near-infrared (NIR) probes were designed for rapid detection of mitochondrial Cys, with a focus on improving response rate by regulating electron density of recognition units. The optimal probe Cy-S-diOMe demonstrated the fastest response rate, lowest detection limit, and highest signal-to-noise ratio, successfully monitoring Cys in tumor-bearing mice within 5 minutes. This modulation of response rate in cyanine dyes presents a promising methodology for high-performance cyanine-based NIR probes design.
