Aptasensor for Quantification of Leptin Through PCR Amplification of Short DNA-Aptamers

Francesca Romana Cavallo et al.

Summary: The study proposes a new method for protein quantification using aptamers, which results in shorter protocol times and improved detection limits through PCR. This technique allows simultaneous quantification of target proteins and aptamers, suitable for biomarkers like human leptin in obesity-related studies. The lowest limit of detection achieved was 100 pg/mL within less than 2 hours, indicating potential for Lab-On-Chip implementations and rapid on-site protein quantification.
