Thickness effect of Al2O3 as buffer layer on Alq3 sensitivity for toxic gas

Abubaker S. Mohammed et al.

Summary: Gas sensitivity and stability were improved by adding a buffer layer (Al2O3) between the active layer (Alq(3)) and glass substrate in an organic gas sensor. Different thicknesses of Al2O3 films were grown on glass substrates using pulsed laser deposition, showing changes in crystallite size and uniform distribution of nano crystallites. The addition of Al2O3 enhanced the sensor properties such as sensitivity and response time, indicating a potential for improved performance in organic gas sensors.

Thickness film effect on charge transport in nanostructure indeno[1, 2-b] fluorene-6,12 dione

Riad S. Masharfe et al.

Summary: Indeno-fluorene compounds, specifically indeno[1,2-b]flourene6,12dione (IF-dione), were used in organic field-effect transistors. The thickness of IF-dione films impacted their crystalline nature and electrical conductivity, with a shift in conduction mechanisms based on voltage. The study highlighted the relationship between film thickness and structural properties, as well as the electrical behavior of thin films under different conditions.
