Calibrations of Low-Cost Air Pollution Monitoring Sensors for CO, NO2, O3, and SO2

Summary: This study evaluated the performance of four electrochemical air quality sensors and different calibration models in Beijing over a 12-month period. The results showed that LSTM models outperformed random forest and linear methods in improving the accuracy of pollutant measurements, especially for O-3 and NO2.

Associations between Weather, Air Quality and Moderate Extreme Cancer-Related Mortality Events in Augsburg, Southern Germany

Summary: This study investigated the short-term impacts of weather and air quality on moderate extreme cancer-related mortality events in Augsburg, Southern Germany from 2000 to 2017. The results showed a strong link between high-mortality events in cancer patients and significantly above-average levels of NO2 and PM2.5 under stable high-pressure conditions. Additionally, above-average temperatures were found to occur before mortality events from mid-summer through fall.
