Particle size distribution and pollutant dissolution characteristics of road-deposited sediment in different land-use districts: a case study of Beijing

Jianlong Wang et al.

Summary: The study revealed that road-deposited sediment mainly consisted of particles < 63 mu m, with the highest pollutants loading in particles between 125 and 250 mu m. Commercial areas had the highest pollutant loading for COD and heavy metals, while campus areas had the highest pollutant loading for TN, NH4+-N, and PO43--P.

Dynamic stormwater management to mitigate phosphorous export

Sadia Tamanna Khan et al.

Summary: Urbanization leads to changes in stormwater flow that threaten water quality by impacting nutrients and sediment. This study characterizes phosphorus and solid particle characteristics in urban stormwater and explores design methods for their removal. New diversion and treatment strategies can effectively enhance the removal of phosphorus and solid particles.
