Engineering titanium-organic framework decorated silver molybdate and silver vanadate as antimicrobial, anticancer agents, and photo-induced hydroxylation reactions

Reda M. Abdelhameed et al.

Summary: Hydroxylation, essential for detoxification and functionalizing organic compounds, has been studied in metal organic frameworks, particularly in titanium based MOFs enhanced with silver molybdate and silver vanadate. The incorporation of Ag2MoO4 and AgVO3 into MIL-125-NH2 network aimed at converting aromatic-Cl to aromatic-OH. The study also revealed significant improvements in antimicrobial and anticancer properties using Ag2MoO4@MIL-125-NH2 nanocomposite compared to the parent Ti-MOFs.

A highly efficient and green approach for the synthesis of pyrimido[4,5-b]quinolines using N,N-diethyl-N-sulfoethanaminium chloride

Abdolkarim Zare et al.

Summary: A highly efficient and green protocol has been developed for the synthesis of pyrimido[4,5-b]quinolines, utilizing a one-pot multicomponent reaction with high yields and short reaction times under solvent-free conditions. This protocol surpasses many others in terms of reaction times, yields, conditions, temperature, and catalyst amount.

Basic ionic liquid anchored on UiO-66-NH2 metal-organic framework: a stable and efficient heterogeneous catalyst for synthesis of xanthenes

Saeed Askari et al.

Summary: The study modified the Zr-based metal-organic framework UiO-66-NH2 with an ionic liquid to support an organocatalyst of guanidine, resulting in a stable heterogeneous catalyst UiO-66-NH2-ILPF6--guanidine. This catalyst showed high catalytic performance in the synthesis of xanthene derivatives and could be recycled for at least four times without significant reduction in activity. The stability of the catalyst was confirmed through various characterization techniques such as XRD, FTIR, SEM/elemental mapping, and leaching test.

Post synthetically modified IRMOF-3 for efficient recovery and selective sensing of U(vi) from aqueous medium

V. Venkata Sravani et al.

Summary: A simple and efficient route for developing novel functionalized MOF materials for rapid and excellent U(vi) recovery and selective sensing has been demonstrated. The post synthetically modified MOFs showed enhanced thermal stability and excellent sorption capacity towards U(vi), with IRMOF-DPC displaying the highest sorption capacity and rapid uranium sorption within 5 minutes. IRMOF-GA exhibited impressive detection limit of 0.36 mg L-1 for U(vi) in fluorescence sensing studies.

Recent advances in nanosized metal organic frameworks for drug delivery and tumor therapy

Junlei Yang et al.

Summary: Metal organic-frameworks (MOFs) are novel materials with unique advantages such as small particle size, porous framework structure, and high specific surface area, attracting increasing attention. Nano-MOFs, as carriers of biotherapy drugs with adjustable size, exhibit metal ion catalytic activity and organic group functional characteristics for biological treatments. Hybridizing nano-MOFs with other materials to form composites can broaden their applications in drug delivery and tumor therapy.
