Mathematical Modeling of Thin-Layer Solar Drying of Poultry Abattoir Sludge

Summary: The study investigated the drying of poultry abattoir sludge (PAS) in thin-layer procedure with solar drying during summer conditions. The results showed that open surface solar drying assisted with solar heated air could be an effective method for drying PAS under high intensity solar radiation.

An overview of nitrogen oxides emissions from biomass combustion for domestic heat production

Summary: To meet the climate and energy objectives of the European Union, the heating and cooling sector needs to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels. Solid biomass is seen as a renewable and carbon-neutral alternative, but there are concerns about its impact on air quality when burned in small-scale domestic appliances, particularly in terms of particulate matter and nitrogen oxides emissions. The focus of this study is to review the literature on nitrogen oxides emissions from these sources, discussing formation mechanisms, control techniques, and the influence of fuel composition and operating conditions gathered from experimental data.

Co-pelletization of sewage sludge, furfural residue and corn stalk: Characteristics and quality analysis of pellets

Pelletization at 200 degrees C was beneficial in improving mechanical characteristics and reducing energy consumption.
