Ameliorating the interfacial issues of all-solid-state lithium metal batteries by constructing polymer/inorganic composite electrolyte

Summary: In this study, an easy-to-construct polymer/inorganic composite solid-state electrolyte (CSSE) was developed by integrating LLZO ceramics into PEO to inhibit the growth of Li dendrites and widen the electrochemical stability window. The designed PLL-CSSE showed outstanding cycling performance and high Coulombic efficiency in LiFePO4-Li cell, with a capacity retention of 82.4% after 200 cycles when combined with NCM622 cathode. The uniform dispersion of LLZO in PEO matrix was responsible for the improved electrochemical performance, indicating a promising pathway for the development of high energy density all-solid-state lithium batteries.

Summary: In this study, a quasi-solid-state lithium battery was assembled using plasma sprayed amorphous Li4Ti5O12 (LTO) electrode and ceramic/polymer composite electrolyte with a small amount of liquid electrolyte. The electrochemical stability and interface contact were significantly improved. The experimental results showed that the amorphous LTO electrode exhibited better performance in terms of cycle stability, capacity retention rate, coulomb efficiency, and internal impedance compared to the traditional LTO electrode after 200 cycles.

Decomposition of Trace Li2CO3 During Charging Leads to Cathode Interface Degradation with the Solid Electrolyte LLZO

Constructed conductive CoSe2 nanoarrays as efficient electrocatalyst for high-performance Li-S battery

The battery delivers outstanding capacity retention over 1000 cycles at 5C with a low decay rate of approximately 0.026% per cycle, showing stable areal capacity even at higher sulfur loading. The improved electrochemical performance can be attributed to the catalytic activation of CoSe2 on polysulfides, as revealed by experimental data and theoretical calculations.
