Summary: This study analyzed the effects of different parameters on the flow and heat transfer characteristics of tube-row channel heat exchangers through numerical simulation. It was found that TiO2-H2O nanofluids can improve the performance of heat exchangers, with the best results achieved at a mass fraction of 0.4%. Adjusting the number of ribs, rib height, pitch diameter ratio, and using nanofluids can significantly increase the Nusselt numbers.

Mehdi Bahiraei et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the influences of diverse shapes of nanoparticles on the thermal-hydraulic efficacy of a nanofluid containing boehmite nanoparticles in a shell and tube heat exchanger. Different particle shapes had varying effects on the heat transfer performance, with the nanofluid with platelet particles demonstrating the highest overall heat transfer coefficient. Additionally, the nanofluid with Os nanoparticles exhibited the greatest effectiveness compared to other nanoparticle suspensions with different shapes.

Thermo-fluidic significance of non Newtonian fluid with hybrid nanostructures

M. K. Nayak et al.

Summary: The investigation analyzed the flow and heat transfer behavior of a non Newtonian fluid subject to an externally inclined magnetic field. The study revealed that the increase in magnetic field strength has an opposite effect on fluid velocity and temperature, while factors such as thermal relaxation time and curvature parameter play a role in controlling the rate of heat transportation. Additionally, the angle of inclination of the magnetic field affects the fluid flow in a reverse manner.

Analysis of the lubrication approximation theory in the calendering/sheeting process of upper convected Jeffery's material

M. Zahid et al.

Summary: This paper analyzes an isothermal calendering process for an upper convected Jeffery's Material, using Lubrication Approximation Theory to simplify the flow equations and obtaining analytical solutions for velocity, flow rate, and pressure gradient. The effects of various parameters are displayed through graphs and tables, with the material parameter being a key factor controlling sheet thickness, flow rate, detachment point, roll separating force, power input, and pressure distribution. Increasing material parameter leads to higher detachment point and thicker sheet.

Analysis of Thermal Creep Effects on Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer in a Microchannel Gas Heating

K. M. Ramadan et al.

Summary: In this study, the numerical simulation of thermal creep effects on fluid flow and heat transfer in microchannel gas flow at low velocities was conducted. The results showed that thermal creep has a significant impact on both velocity and temperature fields as Reynolds number decreases, leading to longer hydrodynamics entrance length. The study also revealed that thermal creep effect on heat exchange between gas and channel wall becomes more significant as Knudsen number decreases.

Mixed convective nanofluid flow over a non linearly stretched Riga plate

Hanumesh Vaidya et al.

Summary: This article focuses on the heat and mass transfer characteristics of mixed convective flow of an electrically conducting nanofluid past a slender plate, considering viscous dissipation and chemical reaction. The analysis involves zero nanoparticle mass flux, convective boundary conditions, and thermophoretic and Brownian aspects for nanoliquid using Buongiorno's relations. The study uses similarity quantities to obtain dimensionless flow field equations and solves them analytically through the optimal homotopy analysis method (OHAM). The results show that higher values of the modified Hartmann number increase the velocity profile while suppressing the temperature profile, and the accuracy of contemporary numerical simulations validates the novelty of the investigation.
