High temperature microwave dielectric and thermochemical properties of waste LixMn2O4 battery cathode materials reduced by moso bamboo

Shunda Lin et al.

Summary: The study examined the microwave heating process of mixtures of waste LixMn2O4 battery cathode materials and moso bamboo, finding that high temperatures aided microwave penetration. It was observed that when the content of moso bamboo exceeded 16%, the effective loss factor and loss angle tangent of the mixtures significantly decreased, while at 12% moso bamboo content, the mixture showed improved thermal reduction and microwave dielectric properties.

Cleaner process: Efficacy of chlorine in the recycling of gold from gold-containing tailings

Haoyu Li et al.

Summary: This study investigated the use of CaCl2 as a chlorine source for the sustainable recovery of gold from gold-bearing tailings via chlorination heat treatment, demonstrating its superior chlorine supply capacity. Understanding the mechanism of gold recovery and chlorine removal at different temperatures, the research indicated that roasting tailings with 5 wt% CaCl2 at 1273 K yielded the best results, with an 85.99 wt% gold recovery and 82.84 wt% chlorine removal. Overall, this research contributes to the industrialization of secondary resources through clean treatment processes.

Effectiveness of thermal treatment on Pb recovery and Cl removal from sintering dust

Hailin Long et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that chlorination roasting is an effective method for treating sintering dust with high heavy metal content. CaCl2 showed superior performance in chlorination, leading to high volatilization rates of Pb and Cl, while the volatilization of PbCl2 is diffusion-controlled with an apparent activation energy of 7.97 kJ/mol.

Application of diagnostic roasting method in thermochemical treatment for Au recovery from gold-containing tailings in microwave field

Haoyu Li et al.

Summary: This study investigated the adaptability of gold-containing tailings to microwave chlorination roasting. The results showed that microwave roasting was more effective in recovering gold from locked gold compared to conventional methods. The findings provide theoretical support for the industrialisation of microwave heat treatment of gold-containing tailings based on process mineralogy.
