Preparation and Characterization of corn husk nanocellulose coating on electrospun polyamide 6

Xiaodong Tan et al.

Summary: Electrospinning technology is a versatile method for generating nano-scale membranes, but often lacks sufficient mechanical properties. Coating cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) on electrospun polyamide 6 (PA6) significantly improves mechanical strength and reduces porosity, making it ideal for infiltration and packaging applications. The Young’s modulus of the composite film is increased by 250% with CNC coatings, representing a promising solution for high-performance reinforced materials.

Effect of TiC nanoparticles on accelerated weathering of coir fiber filler and basalt fabric reinforced bio/synthetic epoxy hybrid composites: Physicomechanical and thermal characteristics

Mohit Hemath et al.

Summary: The research investigated the physical, mechanical, and thermal characteristics of bio and synthetic basalt fabric epoxy composites reinforced with coir microparticles and TiC nanofillers before and after exposure to accelerated weathering. The results showed reduced mechanical characteristics and increased water absorption after exposure, along with surface chemical modifications and more fracture lines observed. Additionally, the thermal properties of the composites decreased after weathering exposure, potentially due to weaker bonding between the components and adverse effects of environmental factors.
