Effects of camera viewing angles on tracking kinematic gait patterns using Azure Kinect, Kinect v2 and Orbbec Astra Pro v2

Ling-Fung Yeung et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the accuracies of three depth sensors in tracking kinematic gait patterns at different camera viewing angles, finding significant effects of angles on performance. Azure Kinect showed superior tracking performance at non-frontal camera viewing angles, indicating good accuracy in tracking joint angles during treadmill walking.

Association of age-related cognitive and obstacle avoidance performances

Summary: The study found that older adults have a smaller clearance of the trailing limb when stepping over obstacles compared to younger adults, resulting in a greater difference in clearance. Memory functions may play a role in controlling trailing limb movements to ensure safe obstacle avoidance during locomotion.
