Capsaicinoids are compounds found exclusively in pepper fruits and are known for their health-promoting properties. The market for capsaicin is growing rapidly, creating a demand for increasing its production and adding commercial value. Precision agriculture practices based on biotechnology and plant physiology evidence can be used to increase capsaicin content and yield in pepper tissue using low-cost strategies.
Capsaicinoids (CAPs) are compounds synthesized and accumulated exclusively in pepper fruits. They are known as health-promoting compounds, and upbringing approaches to increase their content on pepper fruits content are strongly demanded. The capsaicin market is rising over 500 million dollars per year, demanding improving its yielding and adding commercial value to the market. These metabolites are used as additives, plus their bioactive functions and pharmaceutical claims. However, maintaining higher amounts under natural conditions requires precision agriculture practices based on biotechnological and plant physiology evidence. The biotic and abiotic factors are low-cost strategies proposed in research to increase CAPs contents and achieve high content yields from pepper tissue.
