Three new jatrophane polyesters (Euphopepluanones M-O 1-3) and eight known ones (4-11) were isolated from the leaves of Euphorbia peplus Linn. Their chemical structures were identified through extensive spectroscopic analysis and the absolute configuration of compound 1 was determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis. In addition, the anti-inflammatory effects of these compounds on lipopolysaccharide-induced RAW264.7 macrophages were evaluated in vitro. Among them, compounds 2 and 7 showed significant anti-inflammatory activity.
Three new jatrophane polyesters, Euphopepluanones M-O (1-3), along with eight known ones (4-11), were isolated from the leaves of Euphorbia peplus Linn. Their chemical structures were established based on extensive spectroscopic analysis. The absolute configurations of compound 1 were assigned by X-ray crystallographic analysis. In addition, their anti-inflammatory effects on lipopolysaccharide-induced RAW264.7 macrophages were evaluated in vitro. Among them, 2 and 7 exhibited significant anti-inflammatory activity.
