Effect of Orthorhombicity on the Electronic Structure and Superconducting Properties of High-Tc Cuprate Family

Ilya Anatolyevich Makarov et al.

Summary: The electronic structure and superconducting properties of the orthorhombic phase in HTSC cuprates were studied under different conditions, leading to changes in the Fermi contour, band structure, and T-c dependence. Asymmetric dispersion surfaces of quasiparticle excitations and the splitting of van Hove singularities were observed due to orthorhombic distortion. The transformation of the Fermi contour and the decrease in T-c were influenced by both the average Cu-O distance and orthorhombic distortion.
