Local Phase Velocity Based Imaging of Viscoelastic Phantoms and Tissues

Summary: The study demonstrates the feasibility of generating viscoelastic parameter images at different frequencies using the LPVI method. By pushing shear waves with acoustic radiation force and combining maps from different acquisitions, a 2-D shear wave velocity map can be generated, and local estimation of elasticity and viscosity parameters is achieved by solving a nonlinear least-squares problem.

Shear wave dispersion analysis of incompressible waveguides

The approaches are based on semi-analytical finite element methods in the frequency domain, focusing on the complexities associated with the incompressibility of solid media and simplification facilitated by the incompressibility of the surrounding fluid. The techniques use traditional selective reduced integration for the solid medium and recently developed perfectly matched discrete layers for the surrounding fluid.
