The multimarginal optimal transport formulation of adversarial multiclass classification

Nicolas Garcia Trillos et al.

Summary: This study examines a family of adversarial multiclass classification problems and provides equivalent reformulations using two different approaches. The results reveal the geometric structure of these problems and extend previous findings in binary classification. Furthermore, computational implications suggest that our solutions can recover optimal classification rules and adversarial strategies for the original problem.

A fast semidiscrete optimal transport algorithm for a unique reconstruction of the early Universe

Bruno Levy et al.

Summary: By leveraging mathematical tools from optimal transport theory, an efficient algorithm based on solving the Monge-Ampere-Kantorovich equation is developed to reconstruct the fluctuations of the primordial density field, linking the early to the late Universe. Unlike existing algorithms limited by discrete combinatorial methods, this algorithm can scale well beyond that limit and accurately recover subtle features of the initial power spectrum, such as baryonic acoustic oscillations.
