It connects the full minimal-coupling model with effective models used in quantum optics and relativistic quantum information, and discusses the necessity of refining effective models to capture the features of light-matter interaction in different regimes. Additionally, it demonstrates how effective dipole interaction models can be covariantly prescribed for relativistically moving atoms.
